Here are a few pics from Hurricane Ike in our East Texas neighborhood. We didn't suffer too much damage in the area...but being and Insurance Agent, I sure was sweating it!
This is a pic of our house to show how we are surrounded by trees...we are so blessed that NONE fell on the house...plenty fell in our 2nd lot though and many limbs and leaves in the pool...lots of clean up still remains...again we are BLESSED. We still have a roof over our head! We also only lost power for 4 hours and many here STILL don't have power!!! Connor was also quite the trooper being cooped up in the house and without power for 4 hours. We just played and had a good time, but he did look at us like we were crazy for not turning on the lights...
Diaper change by flashlight...(the first w/the flash...the second w/out.)

There were some in our neighborhood a little less fortunate...
A neighbors tree that was completely uprooted. Thankfully it fell forward not back.
If you look closely, you can see this large tree laying on the center of this house. These fellows were out there removing it themselves...CRAZY!!! Thankfully, it didn't go through their house...
There are still SO many evacuees finding refuge in East Texas. Please continue to pray for the families who are displaced. Many of them are trying to make the difficult decision whether to start life over here, or try to go back and rebuild their homes that were literally washed away...I can't imagine the struggle for so many families!
